2020 Annual MeEting

2020 CSVS Annual Meeting on Vascular Surgery / September 10-12

After careful consideration, the CSVS Executive has made the difficult decision to cancel September’s in-person 2020 CSVS Annual Scientific Meeting in St. John’s, Newfoundland. This was done for many reasons, including our commitment to protect the health and safety of our delegates, as well as to ensure our surgeons remain close to home to continue to serve our local vascular patients.  Through these times, we ultimately remain committed to advocating and caring for those with vascular concerns.

I am extremely disappointed that we cannot proceed with this year’s meeting as planned. I acknowledge that our annual gathering provides a valuable forum for vascular surgeons, residents, medical students, and allied health professionals to gather to collaborate, further clinical knowledge, promote research, and connect with colleagues and friends. And while we are unable to meet this year, I am confident this is best for our patients and the communities we serve.  However, the CSVS Executive is currently exploring options to connect virtually to promote the great research that comes from our Society, perhaps in a way that highlights work from medical students and residents. Further information will be forthcoming over the next few weeks via email and posted on the CSVS Website.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to our corporate and industry partners for their patience, understanding, and support of the CSVS, particularly during these unprecedented times. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact me at csvs@vascular.ca.

On behalf of the CSVS, I wish the best of health to you, family, and friends.

Sincerely,

Keith Baxter
